Study shows EE offers Newcastle's best mobile internet performance
EE has been named the top network in Newcastle for mobile broadband performance.

A study by independent consumer advocate RootMetrics rated EE as the north-east city's number one for mobile internet browsing, with the carrier achieving average download and upload speeds of 24.4Mbps and 13.7Mbps respectively.

The figure for downloads was more than 17Mbps faster than that recorded for any other mobile provider.

In all, over 26,000 mobile performance tests were completed in the Newcastle region as part of the research.

EE launched 4G superfast mobile broadband in the city last December and upgraded the service to offer double speeds this July.

Customers using EE's 4G service are enjoying a wide range of benefits, from loading webpages in an instant to downloading large files at high speed and streaming live TV on smartphones and tablets.

More than one million customers have signed up to 4G from EE, which is available in more than 100 towns and cities across the UK.
