Be Broadband hands award to wholesale subsidiary
Be Broadband has heralded the launch of its subsidiary Be Wholesale as one of its most important moments of the year.

The wholesale broadband provider - backed by O2 and parent company Telefonica - was officially announced in November 2010, with this event picking up Be's "favourite thing we released this year" gong in its annual awards.

Commenting on the launch of the new company on its blog, Be described it as "not the jazziest [piece] of technology we've ever released, but important nonetheless".

Be has previously claimed the subsidiary will inject some "much-needed choice and innovation" into the wholesale broadband sector and confirmed it had signed up more than 30 internet service provider partners when it first hit the market.

Felix Geyr, head of home broadband at O2, said the launch represented a significant milestone for the network operator, adding: "We will be delivering the very best services to meet the needs of a burgeoning broadband market."
