BT Digital Champions attracts hundreds of West Midlands students
Students across the West Midlands are getting involved in one of BT's digital inclusion initiatives.
The BT Digital Champions scheme - part of the telecoms giant's Better Future programme - sees participants volunteer to teach vital online skills to people who have never accessed the web.
More than 1,500 students from the region have agreed to get involved, with 14 West Midlands schools - including Alexandra High School and Sixth Form Centre in Tipton, George Salter Academy in West Bromwich, Hodge Hill Sports and Enterprise College and Perry Beeches School, both in Birmingham - taking part.
As an incentive to sign up, those that complete Digital Champions activities will receive free tickets to the end-of-term Rock Assembly 2013 concert at Wembley Arena.
Mike Cook, BT's Regional Director for the West Midlands, said: "This is a great way for young people to share their skills and knowledge with others in the communities in which they live."
