BT wins Sky Sports deal for broadband TV
Home broadband services from BT will be able to be bundled with TV packages including Sky Sports channels after the firm struck a deal with BSkyB.

Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 channels will be available for BT broadband customers from August 1st.

The channels can be added to BT Vision, the firm's TV service that runs alongside its home broadband packages.

Gavin Patterson, chief executive of BT Retail, said: "We are delighted to have reached this milestone, which means that we can be certain of offering Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 to our customers before the football season kicks off."

The firm has yet to unveil how much the channels will cost.

Currently, existing BT broadband customers can add BT Vision to their broadband package for £7.50 a month for three months, paying £14.99 thereafter.

For anyone who is not already a BT customer, they can sign up to its triple play bundle of home phone, broadband and TV for an initial three-month free period. The monthly cost is then £33.99 for the rest of the 18-month contract.
