The clock is ticking on TalkTalk's six months free broadband promotion.

Customers who sign up for home phone and broadband bundles from TalkTalk can currently get their first half a year of internet usage without having to pay anything but their £12.04 monthly line rental.

Following this promotional period, subscribers will need to pay the regular price of £6.99 per month for the TalkTalk Essentials package, which offers download speeds of up to 24Mb/s.

People who wish to take advantage of this discounted deal will have to move fast, as it is set to expire on September 30th 2010.

As well as fast download speeds, TalkTalk Essentials also includes a 40GB monthly allowance, while the home phone package includes unlimited evening and weekend calls to UK landlines.

It is subject to an 18-month minimum contract and requires a one-off connection fee of £29.99 to be paid.

Alternatively, customers can get unlimited downloads and calls with TalkTalk Plus, which costs £14.99 per month.
