Online support network 'key to encouraging young entrepreneurs'
Accessing an online support network through home broadband could encourage more young entrepreneurs to set up shop, an organisation has claimed.

Leading broadband provider Virgin Media has found that one in five young Brits would like to run their own company but experience barriers such as a lack of contacts and experience.

It is launching an initiative designed to help those with home broadband to join a network and online community including some of the country's business experts.

Scott Cain, deputy chief executive of Enterprise UK, described this as a way of opening up a world of business contacts that will enable young people to take a first step towards their goals.

He said: "Taking the support network online makes it accessible wherever aspiring entrepreneurs are and whenever they need it."

Earlier this week, Virgin Media announced that it would be exclusively launching Film4 HD, which could be good news for those with one of the company's home broadband packages.
