Vodafone pleased with Q3 performance
Vodafone has reported an increase in contract customers and revenues in the third quarter of 2010.

The mobile broadband provider revealed service revenue rose by 2.9 per cent between July and September, with growth in the number of people signed up to monthly agreements cited as one of the reasons for this result.

Furthermore, the company said the amount of money it earned from data usage - such as 3G broadband access - remained strong over the three-month period, thanks in part to the "increasing penetration of smartphones and mobile internet bundles".

Vittorio Callao, Vodafone's group chief executive, commented: "I am pleased to report a further improvement in organic service revenue growth."

Earlier this week, the network operator offered its customers the opportunity to purchase tickets for the Wireless festival 48 hours before they went on general sale.

The passes were made available to Vodafone subscribers at 09:00 GMT yesterday morning (November 10th).
