Broadband providers shortlisted for awards
Leading broadband providers have been named as contenders for a number of industry awards.

Broadband bundle specialists including Orange, O2 and Virgin Media have been announced as contenders for this year's Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) awards, to be held in July.

Virgin Media goes head to head with last year's winner O2 for the Consumer Fixed Broadband category, while Orange leads the way with four nominations in total.

O2 and Orange are both in the mobile broadband and consumer customer service categories.

ISPA secretary general Nicholas Lansman has congratulated all the nominees and said: "Each year the ISPA Awards rewards the UK's top internet companies after a process that involves thorough technical testing and judging from an independent panel.

The panel of judges is led by thinkbroadband.com editor Andrew Ferguson, who recently said consumers should be more willing to pay extra for their broadband in order speed up the expansion of fibre optic and other high-speed networks.
