Members of staff from businesses in Devon have been learning about how to enhance their performance using various advances in technology, such as a superfast broadband connection.

The Devon Business Expo took place at the Matford Centre in Exeter this week, with more than 900 local firms registering to attend the event.

Representatives from a variety of companies were in attendance providing ample networking opportunities, while the exhibition also hosted the Exeter Chamber of Commerce's monthly lunch, the Exeter Express and Echo reports.

Matt Young from Cosmic Ethical IT explained to the newspaper: "We are here with Connecting Devon and Somerset to make people aware that superfast broadband is rolling out and our job is to show people what you can do with it."

In addition to learning about the benefits of a better broadband connection, attendees were also advised on how to use social media platforms to enhance their business.

Following the exhibition, Managing Director of the firm that organised the event Dave Barr said he was extremely pleased with the turnout, with a number of the 72 exhibitors already rebooking a place to attend again next year.
