Airband is set to bring high-speed broadband to 14 parishes across Worcestershire.
Faster broadband for 14 Worcs parishes
Faster broadband will be rolled out in 14 Worcestershire parishes after they won funding to support a rollout by preferred provider Airband.

The deployment, which is due to start immediately and finish in the next few months, will bring improved connectivity to Little Witley, Bockleton, Kyre, Hanley, Rochford, Eastham, Lindridge, Mamble, Bayton, Tibberton, Crowle, Hanbury, Stock and Bradley, and Feckenham.

Airband was chosen to carry out the work due to its experience of delivering rural community broadband rollouts and the strength of packages it offers to residents, businesses and rival internet service providers.

The move is part of the county council's drive to bring super-fast broadband to 90 per cent of properties across Worcestershire by 2015.

Funding was awarded to the parishes on the grounds that they were unable to receive minimum speeds of 2Mbps and may not gain access to reasonable broadband speeds without this financial intervention.

Simon Geraghty, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for economy and infrastructure, said: "This will support and open up new opportunities to businesses within these areas."
