Minister promises BT broadband meeting
Culture Minister Ed Vaizey has promised to arrange a meeting between a number of firms in Corby and telecommunications company BT.

Businesses in the area have complained about download speeds in the town. SMEs with sites located on industrial estates are particularly distressed about the state of existing infrastructure.

To address these concerns, Mr Vaizey has promised to arrange a meeting between BT and the companies affected.

Mr Vaizey's pledge came as he addressed a meeting of the Corby Business Group.

Local parliamentary candidate Tom Pursglove praised the Culture Minister for his contribution and thanked him for attending the conference.

Mr Pursglove said: "In an age where more and more work is being carried out online, it is crucial that our businesses are able to access superfast broadband."

The Conservative corby and East Northampton parliamentary hopeful also raised concerns over rural broadband in the region.
