Norfolk broadband speeds spark concern
Concerns have been expressed over the quality of home and business broadband access in Norfolk.

The county is set to bid for a slice of the £530 million of public money the government has set aside to improve internet connections across the UK, reports the Norwich Evening News.

And shadow business secretary John Denham has met with local business leaders to issue his support for the campaign, claiming employers in the area are "really concerned" about the standard of broadband they can receive.

He went on to insist plans for fast web access are as vital as boosting transport links in Norfolk.

"There are concerns about the A11 and speeding up rail travel to London, but the infrastructure of broadband is just as important," Mr Denham remarked.

His comments coincided with the launch of the city's Phones, Pixels and Plasmas digital expo, which is designed to help people make the most of a wide range of technology.

The event runs at The Forum until April 7th 2011.
