Openreach hails progress on Welsh fibre broadband rollout
Openreach has commended the success of efforts to increase access to high-speed fibre broadband in Wales.

Since the launch of Superfast Cymru a year ago, the technology has been made available in many towns and rural communities across the country, with more places currently in the middle of being upgraded.

Liv Garfield, Chief Executive of Openreach, said this is helping businesses all over Wales expand their operations and compete on a level playing field with rivals in other parts of the world.

In addition, she stated that the technology is opening up opportunities for families to "explore new horizons and applications that will enrich their lives".

As a result, Ms Garfield believes the rollout of high-speed fibre broadband represents an "exciting journey" for Wales.

"We are making great progress with supercharging the country's broadband speeds," she commented.

Ms Garfield added that improving access to high-speed fibre broadband has been a "complex project" that has required lots of "meticulous planning and hard work".

However, she said the fruits of Openreach's collaboration with the Welsh Government are now
becoming apparent, with their efforts "really starting to pay off".
