A community broadband scheme has brought superfast speeds to 100 households across the Tove Valley, Northamptonshire.

The initiative has seen high-speed Wi-Fi rolled out to villages in the area, which has traditionally struggled to access a fast and reliable broadband service.

According to About My Area, project leaders recently sent an email to all members, revealing that the 100th home had been connected just two months after the launch of the scheme.

Thanks to the efforts of "intrepid volunteers", the rollout is now far more advanced than expected, the email explained.

"We have members who have registered and are on the waiting list - we are getting round as quickly as possible," it added.

The project is expected to bring superfast connectivity to as many as 450 homes and businesses across the Tove Valley, thanks in part to a £117,000 government grant awarded as part of the £20 million Rural Community Broadband Fund.
