UK needs to progress with broadband tech, says report
The UK needs to step up its game when it comes to next-generation broadband.

This is according to the Economist Intelligence Unit, which said the nation needs to take a more proactive approach to providing access to next-generation networks.
Dennis McCauley is director of global technology research at the firm and said although the UK's achievements are notable, progress is needed in key areas such as service adoption and next-gen rollout.
However, news from earlier this week may emphasise the inroads being made by the country to provide super-fast broadband for certain regions.
Chancellor George Osborne announced that £10 million in funds will be given to Wales in a bid to connect the nation with faster, more reliable internet.
It forms part of the government's £830 million plans, unveiled in December 2010, to create the continent's best broadband network by 2015.
These include proposals for a "digital hub" in every community, awarding spectrum for mobile devices and cutting infrastructure access costs.
