Virgin Media wants net neutrality code to go further
Virgin Media has called on the Broadband Stakeholder Group to go further with its forthcoming net neutrality Code of Conduct.

It is due to be launched next week and is set to require members to be more open in regard to their broadband traffic management, reports PC Pro.

A spokesman for Virgin Media said the internet provider believes the code will be good for internet users, but added more could be demanded of internet service providers (ISPs).

"As the demand for faster broadband speeds grows, transparency must extend beyond traffic management and it's critical that ISPs provide this level of honesty about the real world speeds they deliver," the official stated.

Virgin Media currently runs a Speed Honesty campaign, in which it publishes the typical broadband rates received by the majority of its customers on a monthly basis.

It has called on other providers to follow in its footsteps and engage in similar practices.
