West Yorkshire and Northumberland broadband boost revealed
Homes and business in West Yorkshire and Northumberland are benefiting from improved access to superfast broadband.
As part of an update on the projects' progress so far, the latest figures show in excess of 36,000 and 34,000 premises respectively have now been connected to superfast broadband services across each of the areas as of the end of 2014.
Deputy Leader of Northumberland County Council Dave Ledger said: "I can't believe we are already half way through the project and that we have already successfully secured additional funding from the Superfast Extension Plan to go even further than [originally] specified."
Indeed, funding continues to be provided from a range of sources - the government, local authorities, the European Union and network operators - that will ensure more properties than ever before will have access to superfast connectivity in each of these areas in the years ahead.
