wispa Limited launches broadband talent pool
Rural broadband consultancy wispa Limited has launched a talent pool for communications specialists in a bid to help communities roll out their own networks.

Called ALLc, the initiative intends to bring together a group of experts capable of doing everything from helping councils plan their broadband strategies to offering technical guidance on solutions for specific projects.

Among the industry insiders to have brought their skills to ALLc are a university lecturer who specialises in the online world and internet privacy, an external contractor for Broadband Delivery UK and a broadband and communications journalist.

Richard Brown, chief operating officer at wispa Limited, said super-fast broadband has been discussed for years, but delivery has been stifled due to lack of funding and because customers do not know how to access the skills they require.

"I want every single council, government department, private company [and] community group ... to get their requirements registered on the site so that we can start matching talent to need," he added.
