6G Internet to hold Lancashire drop-in
Broadband provider 6G Internet will hold a drop-in session in Blackburn today.
Experts from the company, which has its headquarters in Simonstone, will offer advice to owners of small businesses in the area between 10:00 and 13:00 GMT at the Blackburn Rovers Enterprise Centre.
James Roberts, Engineering Manager at 6G Internet, argued that faster connections are becoming more important as the world becomes more reliant on ecommerce, reports the Lancashire Telegraph.
"We believe the future of broadband lies in radio technology and the idea of the drop-in session is to give businesses a greater understanding of wireless internet communications," Mr Roberts added.
6G Internet has spent five years developing its infrastructure and currently offers consumers packages with speeds of between 10Mbps and 10Gbps. The latter would allow a full 90-minute 1080p HD film to be downloaded in under one second.
Executives from 6G Internet recently unveiled a product aimed at residents in Blackburn - the firm's first ever rollout.
