B4GAL community broadband project launches communications team
A community broadband project that aims to boost connectivity in Glencaple and Lowther is supporting its efforts with the launch of a new communications team.

B4GAL (Broadband for Glencaple and Lowther), a group made up predominantly of local volunteers, is looking to roll out fibre-to-the-home broadband to every property in nine rural Southern Uplands villages - Abington, Crawford, Crawfordjohn, Elvanfoot, Lamington, Leadhills, Roberton, Wanlockhead and Wiston.

Any proceeds from the project will be reinvested into sustaining other community projects.

The organisation is currently investigating which parties it needs to communicate with, what they are interested in and the best way to reach them.

It is also putting together a one-page "essential facts" document to put up in community areas such as churches, doctor's surgeries, shops and other locations in a bid to build knowledge among the potential customer base.

Other activities include adding fresh content to the B4GAL website, establishing a marketing budget for roadshow meetings and revamping the existing logo.
