Businessman calls for end to terrible broadband in Leics
The Director of a business from a rural corner of Leicestershire has called for fibre optic broadband to be introduced to the area sooner rather than later.

Martin Sansom works at chartered surveyor Sansom Hamilton and Co, which operates in the Appleby Magna area.

He told the Hinckley Times: "The internet is the way we do things now so any improvement will make a significant difference.? Connection speeds are absolutely terrible and it is an issue for us when we want to download or upload documents."

Leicestershire is the subject of a rollout project that is aiming to bring superfast speeds to 95 per cent of the region by spring 2016.

Properties in the most rural areas may not receive a next-generation upgrade until 2018, but they have been promised guaranteed speeds of at least 2Mbps.

Mr Sansom went on to say that he looks forward to the rollout taking place, but feels five years is too long to wait.
