Hull firm boosts city's fibre broadband
A communications business from Hull has vowed to make the city the highest rated in the UK in terms of fibre optic broadband speeds.

KC has introduced a new high-speed service throughout Hull, which came as a reaction to a report from the beginning of this year, which claimed only a tiny minority of properties had fibre optic access.

The company's Wholesale, Regulatory and Finance Director Sean Royce told the Hull Daily Mail that the report had been compiled using out of date information.

He said: "The picture is quite different today, as we've pushed ahead with our rollout of our superfast fibre broadband service KC Lightstream, which is available to more local people every day."

The service uses Fibre to the Premises technology and can provide speeds of up to 100Mbps - well above the UK average. Most properties with next-generation connections use the slower Fibre to the Cabinet technology.
