KC praised for fibre broadband investment
Hull West and Hessle MP Alan Johnson has praised east Yorkshire internet service provider (ISP) KC's investment in fibre optic broadband technology.

The company has pledged to roll out super-fast connectivity to a further 15,000 homes and businesses across the region this year, having already brought the technology to 17,000 properties in areas such as Kingswood, the Greatfield estate and Beverley.

Speaking in a keynote address to KC employees as part of its Kick Start Week event, Mr Johnson said the ISP's decision to finance the rollout of fibre broadband could make Hull and east Yorkshire more attractive to businesses.

Helen Roberts, HR director at KC, said the company was "delighted" that Mr Johnson was able to take part in Kick Start Week, which was organised to mark the beginning of the new financial year.

"As local residents, our employees have a real stake and an interest in the region's success and it was great to hear from him what's on the horizon for Hull and east Yorkshire," she added.
