Superfast knitter welcomes superfast broadband to Shetland
The world's fastest knitter has welcomed the arrival of superfast broadband in the Shetland Islands.

The Scotsman reports that the arrival of superfast broadband in the area has been welcomed with some superfast knitting, thanks to local resident Hazel Tindall.
Mrs Tindall is the current holder of the 'world's fastest knitter' title and wore a 35-metre long scarf to celebrate the high-speed technology coming to the Shetland Islands.
The impressive scarf has been in creation for nine years and visitors to the isles are encouraged to knit and purl a few stitches each, making it a fun and unique garment.
Better broadband has been made available to more than 4,000 homes and businesses in Quarff, Sumburgh and Lerwick thanks to the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme. Some £146 million of public funding has made this possible, with many more residential and commercial properties in the Highlands and Islands set to be connected over the coming months.
